Senior Consultant

Linda has more than 25 years working in the nonprofit sector.  During her career, she has worked as executive director or development director for five different organizations: Legal Aid Society, The Summit Institute, The Snowbird Institute, The Leonardo and The Utah Arts Festival.  She also worked as the Director of Service-Learning at the University of Utah's Bennion Community Service Center.

She has significant experience in budgeting; public relations; volunteer, board and staff management; consulting and grant writing.  She has wide-ranging fund raising and management experience in all of her positions and set new records for amonts raised at any institution where she has worked.

Linda is a resident of Salt Lake City and attended the University of California, Berkeley before moving to Utah.  She has a bachelor's and master's degree from the University of Utah.

Senior Vice President

Mietchen_L.jpgLisa's efforts are focused on strategic planning for capital campaigns, the analysis of organizations' funding needs and post-campaign planning. Lisa also manages the executive search portfolio and client relationships for FRCI. Lisa has more than twenty-five years' experience in marketing communications, including seven years as Director of Marketing Communications at Novell, Inc., where she was in charge of major industry-wide product announcements. She also owned Synergy Strategic Communications for eleven years, a firm which specialized in marketing communications, branding and press relations for high-tech companies.

Lisa was a member of the Junior League of Salt Lake City for fifteen years, during which she served as President. Following her term as President, she served as Campaign Director during the successful drive to build a new headquarters for the Junior League. During her tenure, the Junior League converted from a special events model of raising funds to a more professional paradigm of raising funds through individual, corporate and foundation gifts. Lisa volunteers extensively at her children's schools. She has served as a board member of Salt Lake City School Volunteers and of the Children's Museum.

A life-long resident of Salt Lake City, Lisa graduated from Principia College, Elsah, Illinois, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and business.

HansenScott.jpg Scott founded FRCI in 1981, and since that time, has directed numerous capital campaigns and has regularly trained the staff, boards of directors and primary supporters of various charitable organizations on strategic planning, annual giving, board training and organizational goal setting. He has conducted planned giving seminars throughout America over the last twenty-six years. He also practices law with Lewis, Hansen, Waldo and Pleshe, where he is a member of the tax, nonprofit and business section of the firm.

Scott was one of three attorneys named to the prestigious “2007 Utah Legal Elite” by Utah Business Magazine. Scott is a past president of the Utah Society of Fund Raisers, where he was honored as the Fund Raiser of the Year in 2002. He is on the National Advisory Council of the Western Folklife Center, and the Boards of the Utah Skeleton and Bobsled Association, and the Utah Bicycle Coalition. He is a past chair of Repertory Dance Theatre and was on the Boards of Directors of Ronald McDonald House Charities, the Utah Shakespearean Festival, and the Grace A. and Obert C. Tanner Planned Giving Society. Scott is a Certified Fund Raising Executive by the National Society of Fund Raising Executives.

Scott is a native of Salt Lake City. He received a law degree from Pepperdine University, as well as a master of science in economics and a bachelor of science in political science from the University of Utah.

President & Managing Partner

scottm.jpgScott has more than twenty years of comprehensive experience in institutional advancement including fund raising, foundation management, public relations and marketing, alumni relations, and volunteer and staff management.

Prior to joining FRCI, Scott served as Vice President for University Advancement at Utah State University and President of the Utah State University Foundation where he oversaw planning for the university’s first comprehensive campaign. During his tenure, private gifts increased 49%, reaching the highest levels in university history. Before joining USU, Scott served the University of Utah as Executive Director of Development and Campaign Director during the planning stages for the university’s third comprehensive campaign, and as Director of Major Gifts.

Prior to his work in higher education, Scott was Associate Director of Development for the Utah Symphony and Director of Development and Chapter Services for the Utah Affiliate of the American Diabetes Association. He is a Certified Fund Raising Executive by the National Society of Fund Raising Executives.

In addition to working on the professional side of non profits, Scott has significant commitment to the volunteer side. He served as president of the Utah Society of Fund Raisers and as president of the Friends of Tracy Aviary. He currently serves on the international board of directors of Phi Delta Theta International Fraternity. He is a regular conference presenter and has spoken at CASE, Association of Fund Raising Professionals (AFP), Utah Society of Fund Raisers (USFR), Utah Nonprofits Association (UNA), North American Interfraternity Conference Foundation (NIC Foundation), Fraternity Executives Association (FEA) and Professional Fraternity Association (PFA) conferences.

Scott received a master of public administration and a bachelor of science in political science from the University of Utah. He was recognized as Fund Raiser of the Year in 2006 by the Utah Society of Fund Raisers.
